Plazes, European startup (founded by Stefan Kellner), raised EUR 2.7 Mio. from Doughty Hanson Technology Ventures, as reported by Techcrunch. Good to see that European startups become more and more interesting for VCs, and good to see that it’s a PHP-based „Web2.0“ community. :-) Congratulations to Stefan for this deal.
How did we know that it’s based on PHP? Well, that was very easy, just simulating a HTTP request to get the HTTP response headers:
bjoern@foobar> telnet beta.plazes.com 80 Trying 194.105.158.22... Connected to beta.plazes.com. Escape character is '^]'.
